We have been actively monitoring the situation, and the health and safety of the attendees and volunteers is our top priority. We are hoping to reschedule the event in the coming months. For the Love of Literacy "Pizza + Books" Giveaway 2020!

Free books with no catch from the Loutit District Library and the Joyful Noise C-Fund!

***********************************************

Joyful Noise Christian Childcare’s C-Fund is ready to give away many brand new books to young readers at the sixth consecutive “Pizza Plus Books” event on Wednesday, March 18th from 4:30-6:30 p.m., in program rooms A and B at the Loutit District Library in Grand Haven!

No registration is necessary for the book fair, which is open to the public and will offer free books to underserved children from infancy up through eight years of age. Attendees can also enjoy a free pizza dinner from Domino's Pizza Grand Haven as well as access to other early childhood resources.

“I volunteered for the event because I find reading to be very important” said Oscar Sipe, a student of the Grand Haven High School National Honor Society who volunteered for last year's event. “In this day of technology, kids are much more interested in video and we cannot forget reading because it's just so much fun. It's good to get away from technology, so, in a way, supporting this it supports getting kids back to reading.”

A 2005 High Scope learning study found that “the greatest amount of brain growth occurs between birth and age five” and that nearly all of the brain’s core structure has been formed by the age of just 3 years old. A strong foundation for literacy is developed at this time, and access to age-appropriate books is an essential part of that groundwork and a cornerstone of the Joyful Noise C-Fund’s Love of Literacy program mission. The C-Fund seeks to connect young children and families with not only high-quality books, but also early childhood resources to support lifelong learning.

****************************************************************************************************

Joyful Noise Christian Childcare’s C-Fund is ready to give away many brand new books to young readers at the fifth consecutive “Pizza Plus Books” event on Wednesday, March 13th from 4:30-6:30 p.m., in program rooms A and B at Loutit District Library in Grand Haven!

“I have been able to help at the Literacy Event each year,” said Sue Sturgill, financial administrator of Joyful Noise Christian Childcare. “It is so heartwarming to watch the kids pick out their books! 2018 Pizza Plus Books Literacy Event at Loutit Library is Coming!

Free books with no catch from Loutit Library and the Joyful Noise C-Fund!

***********************************************

Joyful Noise Christian Childcare’s C-Fund is ready to give away many brand new books to young readers at the fourth consecutive “Pizza Plus Books” event on Wednesday, March 14th from 4:30-6:30 p.m., in program rooms A and B at Loutit District Library in Grand Haven!

No registration is necessary for the book fair, which is open to the public and will offer free books to underserved children from infancy up through eight years of age. Attendees can also enjoy a free pizza dinner from Domino’s as well as access to other early childhood resources.

“One of my favorite parts of our yearly event are the storytellers that read to the kids,” said Amanda Butcher, lead teacher of Joyful Noise Christian Childcare’s two-year-old program. “Even though the book fair is really busy and exciting, the children are always excited to listen to a story.”

A 2005 High Scope learning study found that “the greatest amount of brain growth occurs between birth and age five” and that nearly all of the brain’s core structure has been formed by the age of just 3 years old. The Joyful Noise C-Fund Working with Hope House in 2017

The Joyful Noise C-Fund Working with Hope House in 2017

The Joyful Noise C-Fund is always looking for opportunities to enrich the lives of children and families in our area, and that means partnering with existing organizations who are doing just that! A ministry of Love Inc, Hope House offers housing and rehabilitational services in the Tri-Cities area for men, women and children. Click on the links to find more about their organizations and how you can support them!

Getting ready for music class in the children's area at Hope House!

Students had fun playing a musical cup game!

This year, the Joyful Noise C-Fund supported Love Inc and Hope House in a few different ways:

  • Organized clothing/supply drives that helped to clothe families at Hope House and offer them much-needed supplies like toothbrushes and other hygiene items
  • Offered children staying at Hope House a fun holiday music program through the Gift of Music, as well as free jingle bell and tambourine instruments and music instruction.
  • Supported the Hope House with inclusion and invitation to our Love of Literacy Program at Loutit District Library for 2017
The Joyful Noise C-Fund will continue to support Hope House in coming years, and in order to provide services for this organization and others like it, there is something that YOU can do to help US!

Make a tax-deductible financial donation to the Joyful Noise C-Fund today through cash, check or credit card/Paypal. Your contribution will support outreach that enriches the lives of families and children in our area in many profound ways!

The Third Annual "Pizza Plus Books" C-Fund Event is Coming!

For the third year in a row, Joyful Noise Christian Childcare’s C-Fund is giving away hundreds of brand new books at the “Pizza Plus Books” event on Wednesday, March 15th from 4:30-6:30 p.m., in program rooms A and B at Loutit District Library in Grand Haven.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 15th at 4:30-6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Loutit District Library, Program rooms A&B in Grand Haven, Michigan
WHO: Children from infancy to 8 years of age!

No registration is necessary for the book fair, which is open to the public and will offer free books to underserved children from infancy up through eight years of age. Attendees can also enjoy a free pizza dinner from Domino’s as well as access to other early childhood resources!

“One of the best parts of my year is watching the children come through the doors when we open the event,” said third-time event volunteer and early childhood teacher, Kelly Van Hook. “Seeing the brightness in the children’s faces and watching them try and decide between all of the great choices for books means so much to me.”

The National Institute for Early Education Research reaffirmed the importance of early childhood literacy with a study in 2016 linking the availability of reading materials and parent involvement with a successful reading outcome for children entering kindergarten and beyond. Providing access to age-appropriate books and nurturing parent and child reading relationships is a cornerstone of the Joyful Noise C-Fund’s Love of Literacy program mission.

The C-Fund seeks to connect young children and families with not only high-quality books but also early childhood resources to support lifelong learning.
